Information for our donors regarding COVID-19

We hope you are staying safe and vigilant during this challenging period. Unfortunately, as a result of the most recent government advice, we have made the difficult decision to temporarily close the Sperm Bank clinic to best protect both staff and donors.

For our donors, we will keep you up to date with all changes and developments, and please be assured that we aim to progress your donor journey as smoothly and swiftly as possible. We are very grateful for every effort you have made so far.
For those interested in donating, please apply online, or email for more information.

We realise that you may have questions at this time.

Can I still book a consultation?
If you have recently enquired about becoming a sperm donor, rest assured that we have received the application and are processing it. Please ensure that you have returned the medical history form. While we will be unable to perform the initial semen analysis stage of the screening process, we are setting up the means to hold initial consultations via online video in order to provide more information about the programme, answer your questions, and discuss your personal and family medical history. We will be in touch in due course.

I have already booked a consultation – can I attend?
Please wait to be contacted by a Donor Recruitment Officer to reschedule your initial consultation via online video.

I am due a blood test soon. Will I be able to book this?
Unfortunately we are unable to proceed with blood and/or urine tests at this time. You will be contacted in due course by a team member as and when we are able to re-open the clinic to schedule this. Please be assured that this will not affect your ability to complete the programme.

How can I avoid getting COVID-19?
• Follow the governments advice in regards to social distancing and quarantine. Only leave your house for essential trips, such as exercise or groceries. Do not meet in groups more than two, maintain 2 metres of distance between you and non-household members.
• Wash your hands regularly with soap and hot water (for at least 20 seconds)

Where can I obtain more information?
